Our goal in this work is to bridge the gap between the Signal/Medical processing research and computer technology research. Then, we will develop efficient parallelizable methods in terms of latency, hardware usage, power consumption, cost, and reliability for many medical applications on high performance computing platforms such as FPGA, GPU, and Multi-core. In this project, we propose developing Quran Tajweed (Recitation) system, which can detect Tajweed and reading mistakes. Moreover, it can be utilized to memorize the reading verses. The proposed system will be tested heavily with single channel and multi-channel microphones for selected Holy Quran verses. The proposed system aims to assess Quran readers and reciter to enhance and improve their reading (Tajweed).
The project aims to help solve one of the main challenges in multimedia systems and Big Data fields. With the recent explosion of video traffic and video contents, it becomes harder to index and retrieve videos based on their contents.
