A team from the Department of Computer Engineering at Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering at the University of Yarmouk , got the Second Place in the Orange Developer Challenge 2015, which was attended by 44 teams from local and emerging companies in Jordan.

The team includes: Dr. Abdel-Karim Al-Tamimi, and the two students Muneera Al-Momani and Rana Abul-Haija, who is work in the Incubator of Orange. The team was honored by the CEO of the company, "Orange Jordan," Mr. Jérôme Hénique at a ceremony held recently for this occasion.

Dr. Al-Tamimi said that the team has developed a software (KATABjy) works on Chrome and Firefox browsers that helps to accomplish a set of text operations to support the use of Arabic on the Internet. Also, the software provides users the ability of sending and receiving short text messages (SMS) from the browser without having to use a mobile phone.
