The IEEE Jordan section of the University of Jordan has received the award of the best student branch in the Kingdom because of the continuous development achieved by the branch for the year 2017. This came during the annual meeting held by the Association, with the broad participation of student branches from various Jordanian universities Of the 24 branches.

The Yarmouk branch also received the award of the best branch in the eighth region, which includes (Europe, Africa and the Middle East) for 2016-2017.

The IEEE Student Branch Counselor at Yarmouk University, Dr. Yazan Al-Issa noted that this achievement is the result of the efforts made by the members of the branch since its activation in 2014, which reflects the outstanding scientific level of the Yarmouk students and their teachers who spare no efforts in preparing the students and providing them with various sciences and skills. In the field of their specialization, praising the efforts of the Executive Committee of the Yarmouk branch.

Al-Issa explained that the branch is working to spread technological and technical knowledge and develop extracurricular activities in a variety of fields through organizing many successful events and participating in Arab and international programming competitions at advanced levels, as well as seeking to provide active engineering solutions in addressing the problems facing Jordan. Currently about 40 students.
