Hijjawi Engineering Student Takes First in Anti-Drug Competition


Qabas Al-Batoush, a student from the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University, won first place in the scientific research category of the national awareness competition organized by the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Public Security Directorate. The competition was held in celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The award was presented during a national ceremony held under the patronage of the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obeidallah Maaitah, who commended Qabas for his outstanding contribution and research efforts. He praised Yarmouk University for fostering student engagement in initiatives that contribute to raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.

This achievement reflects the commitment of the Hijjawi Faculty to encourage academic excellence and community engagement among its students. It also underscores the faculty's ongoing efforts to support youth involvement in addressing national and social challenges through research and innovation.

Qabas’s participation was supervised and supported by the Career Guidance and Alumni Follow-Up Office / King Abdullah II Fund for Development at the Deanship of Student Affairs. His success highlights the impactful role that student-driven research can play in shaping public awareness and contributing to societal well-being.
