About Field Training
The Field Training course is a vital experiential component of all engineering programs at the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology. It provides students with hands-on experience in real-world engineering environments, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
During this course, students are placed with companies, organizations, or institutions relevant to their field of study. Under the guidance of a faculty Field Training Supervisor, students engage in technical tasks, team collaboration, and project-based work that reflects the practical realities of their future careers.
Students are expected to follow a standardized training structure that includes:
-
Understanding the company’s profile and operations
-
Documenting their roles and responsibilities
-
Reflecting on the skills and knowledge gained
At the end of the training period, students submit a detailed technical report summarizing their experience, contributions, and learning outcomes. They also participate in an oral presentation before a Training Examination Committee, where their performance and professional growth are evaluated.
