Hijjawi Faculty First Annual Alumni and Career Forum - Day 2


Dr. Mwaffaq Otoom, Vice President of Yarmouk University for Development and Global Rankings, sponsored the closing of the second day of the First Annual Alumni and Career Forum, organized by the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology. The event witnessed wide participation from company representatives, national institutions, alumni, and students.

Dr. Otoom affirmed that Yarmouk University has always been a beacon of knowledge and a hub for ideas, producing distinguished national competencies. He stressed that the forum serves as a strategic platform to strengthen cooperation between the university and the labor market, embodying Yarmouk’s mission of empowering its students and graduates to innovate and compete in diverse fields.

Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, explained that the second day of the forum aimed to open direct channels between students and alumni on one side, and public and private sector institutions on the other, thereby enhancing opportunities for training and employment. He highlighted the faculty’s focus on preparing its graduates for the labor market by developing curricula, providing modern laboratories, and building partnerships with national and international institutions to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

On behalf of the participating companies, Eng. Mahmoud Jaradat, General Manager of Manaseer Ready Mix Concrete, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the ties between academia and business. He noted the crucial role of national institutions in supporting students and providing them with training and job opportunities that positively shape their career paths.

The second day’s activities included a series of specialized lectures designed to prepare students and alumni for the job market. These were delivered by the Career Development Unit at the faculty, in collaboration with the Hijjawi Foundation for Career Development. Eng. Hazem Owais presented the latest engineering applications and technologies linked to AutoDesk programs, showcasing their role in enhancing engineers’ efficiency. Eng. Hamed Qwaisem focused on building professional, targeted CVs, while Dr. Mohammad Rawashdeh delivered a motivational lecture on self-development, seizing opportunities, and honing skills to boost competitiveness.

In addition, the day featured the opening of the Graduation Projects Exhibition, where students showcased their innovations to evaluation committees and participating companies.

The forum concluded with the honoring of participating companies in the Career Fair, in recognition of their support for students and alumni, and their role in facilitating direct communication with both public and private institutions. Awards were also presented to outstanding students, the top three graduation projects were announced, and students who achieved local and international accomplishments over the past year were recognized.
