
Hijjawi Faculty Achieves Top Ranks in SUMO Contest 2025
Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University achieved a new national milestone in the Fourth National SUMO Robotics Contest 2025, hosted by Al-Hussein Technical University with the participation of more than 230 teams representing various Jordanian universities.
The faculty participated with five teams, two of which secured podium finishes, winning first place at the national level in two main categories:

Best Design Award (500 JOD): won by student Majdi Al-Manaseer (Electronics Engineering).

Best Program Award (500 JOD): won by the Robotics Team of the Hijjawi Faculty, consisting of:

The teams were academically supervised by Dr. Zaid Al-Bataineh (Supervisor of the Robotics Team, Hijjawi Faculty) and Dr. Shadi Alboon (Department of Electronics Engineering).
Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, emphasized that this achievement reflects the distinguished level of the faculty’s students in design and programming, strengthening its position as a pioneering center for innovation and technology nationwide.
Dr. Alzubaidi also extended his gratitude and appreciation to Yarmouk University’s administration for its continuous support and for providing an outstanding educational and research environment, as well as to Engineer Ayman Hijjawi, Chairman of the Hijjawi Scientific Foundation, for his generous sponsorship of this participation, which served as a strong motivation for the students to attain these advanced ranks and raise the faculty’s name high in national forums.
