Al-Hijjawi College of Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University hosted a specialized scientific symposium entitled "The Fifth Industrial Revolution: Artificial Intelligence Redefining the World of Manufacturing." The symposium was organized by the IEEE Industry Applications Society - YU team, under the supervision of Dr. Ghazi Muqabala, and was held at the college.

The event opened with remarks emphasizing the need to unify national efforts to keep pace with the accelerating rate of technological transformation. Eng. Mahmoud Rababa'a, Head of the Irbid Branch of the Engineers Syndicate, pointed out that the involvement of engineers in this revolution has become essential for fostering innovation, praising the royal vision of establishing Jordan as a regional hub. He also affirmed the syndicate's role in training young people through specialized programs in programming, data, artificial intelligence, and modern industrial technologies. Dr. Abeer Hatamleh, representing the "All of Jordan Youth" initiative, discussed the initiative's role in developing youth skills and enhancing their community engagement.

For his part, Dr. Awad Al-Zaben, Dean of the Al-Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology, reviewed outstanding examples of student success stories, reflecting advanced levels of academic excellence and a spirit of perseverance and determination. He emphasized that these successes did not come about by chance, but rather are the product of a stimulating educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation and keeps pace with rapid technological advancements. He noted that the faculty places particular emphasis on providing students with practical training alongside theoretical knowledge, through their participation in applied projects and local and international scientific competitions, which contributes to honing their skills and enhancing their readiness for the job market.

The symposium included enriching scientific sessions. Dr. Ghazi Muqabala presented on the concepts of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, while engineers Raghad Hamimat, Tahani Badour, and Yasmin Mustarihi participated in a panel discussion on artificial intelligence applications in the manufacturing sector.
