Under the patronage of Professor Awad Al-Zaben, Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology, Yarmouk University hosted the first-ever Seismic Stability Towers competition in the Kingdom. Organized by the student branch of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in the Civil Engineering Department, the event was attended by a large number of students, faculty members, and those interested in engineering.

The event featured several guests and expert speakers, including representatives from the Jordanian Concrete Society, Engineer Salah Abu Obeid, the Director of the Jordanian Seismological Observatory, Engineer Ghassan Sweidan, and representatives from Asas Concrete Industries. They spoke about the importance of practical training for civil engineering students, the importance of seismic engineering in Jordan, and modern technologies in the construction sector.

The competition saw outstanding participation from students specializing in civil engineering, architecture, and smart and sustainable urban engineering. Fifteen teams competed in designing and constructing engineering towers capable of withstanding vibrations and earthquakes using a device that realistically simulates seismic activity. The results were as follows:
Strength Award:
• First Place: Team Arch – Architecture
• Second Place: Team Steel – Civil Engineering
• Third Place: Team SmartX – Smart and Sustainable Cities Engineering
Best Design Award:

• Team ACE – Civil Engineering
