About the Program

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering/Design Technology prepares students for applied engineering careers in mechanical design, manufacturing, automotive systems, product development, and modern computational analysis. Established in 2021, the program provides a strong foundation in applied mechanics, materials engineering, mechanical design, CAD/CAM/CAE tools, vibration analysis, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

The 167-credit-hour curriculum combines classroom instruction with extensive laboratory experience across facilities such as the Strength of Materials Lab, Materials Science Lab, Instrumentation Lab, CAD/CAE Lab, FEA Lab, Mechanical Vibration Lab, and Manufacturing Processes Lab. Students also complete a two-term graduation project and four career development courses that support professional skills and workplace readiness.

A mandatory two-month full-time field training experience connects students with engineering and industrial organizations, providing practical exposure to real-world applications. Students may waive selected electives upon earning approved international certifications. Foreign language courses further enhance global employability and academic mobility.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
